BharatLocal ("we", "us", "the App") is operated by Kopps Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, a private limited company registered in India. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: phone number (mandatory for OTP login), name, email if provided
- Location data: selected city, locality, GPS coordinates (only when you tap "use current location")
- Property activity: properties viewed, favorited, compared; searches saved; site visits booked
- KYC documents (sellers only): Aadhaar last 4 digits, PAN number, uploaded photo IDs. Stored encrypted; visible only to admin reviewers
- Payment data: processed by Razorpay. We store only transaction IDs and status — never your card number or UPI VPA
- Document Verification uploads: documents you upload for AI verification are scanned by our partner (Groq) and stored in your private vault
- Device data: Android version, app version, anonymous crash reports, push notification token
2. Why we collect it
- To show you relevant property listings in your city
- To compute personalized scores (AI Buy Score, Fair Price, etc.)
- To verify sellers and builders for trust
- To process payments for Premium and ancillary services
- To notify you of price drops, builder replies, and site visit confirmations
- To improve the app via anonymous usage analytics
3. Who we share data with
Strictly limited to operational partners:
- Razorpay — payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
- Msg91 — OTP SMS delivery
- Cloudinary — photo + document storage
- Render / Cloudflare — server hosting and CDN
- Groq AI — document analysis (documents deleted after analysis, results retained)
- Mappls (MapMyIndia) — geocoding for address lookups
We never sell your data to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Builder access to your data
When you book a site visit or send a chat message to a builder, that builder sees your name and phone number to contact you. Premium users can choose to share masked phone (last 4 digits only) instead of the full number.
5. Your rights
- Access: request a copy of all data we hold on you
- Correction: edit your profile, name, email, language directly in app
- Deletion: email admin@bharatlocal.app from your registered address to request full account deletion. We process within 30 days.
- Opt-out of notifications: Settings → Notifications → toggle per category
- Withdraw consent: uninstall the app — local data wiped automatically
6. Data retention
- Active account: data retained as long as your account is active
- Inactive account (no login >12 months): automatically anonymized
- Deleted account: permanent deletion within 30 days of request, except where required for legal compliance (tax records: 7 years)
7. Children
BharatLocal is intended for users 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately.
8. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be notified in-app at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
